Mike Little, who co-founded the blogging platform WordPress along with US code writer Matt Mullenweg, is to be recognised for his outstanding contribution to the digital media arena.
Stockport born Little will be presented with the SAScon Outstanding Contribution to Digital Award on 6-7 June 2013 at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School.
Mr Little and US code writer Matt Mullenweg created the website content management system in 2003 and is utilised by over 64 million websites worldwide where 40 million blog posts are published each month and accounting for nearly 20% of all websites. But while Matt Mullenweg has gone on to ‘rockstar’ status in the global tech community and a net worth estimated at $40million, Mike still lives in virtual anonymity in Stockport running his own small web development and consultant company, zed1.
Now everyone from CNN and NBC to Telegraph Blogs and TechCrunch, right down to one-man blogs uses the WordPress platform.
