A free festival celebrating the very best of Stockport will take place on Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August.The Stockport Summer Festival is an exciting three day extravaganza showcasing local gourmet food and drink, fabulous fashion, live music, family entertainment and so much more.
As part of its Investing in Stockport programme, the Council has brought together businesses from all across the borough to take part in the first town centre event of its kind.
Councillor Sue Derbyshire, Leader of Stockport Council, said:
“We have a wealth of quality producers and talents in Stockport. This summer festival will be a great way of highlighting the creative, cultural and retail offer we have in the town centre as well as the diverse, high quality, independent offer we have within the district centres – showcasing them all in one central location over the weekend.”
Calendar of Events
- Friday 29th 5.00pm – 10.00pm Foodie Friday in the Market Place – enjoy artisan street food and an open air stage with live bands throughout the evening, in association with The Blue Cat, Heaton Moor.
- Saturday 30th – Be front row at the best fashion show in town. College fashion students will be revealing their live model window displays at Debenhams and Mersey Square will host a purpose built catwalk, fashion master-class and 15 minute makeovers flourished on visitors by Stockport’s very own professional stylist. Robinson’s will be opening its popular Visitors Centre and offering an exclusive Beer and Bar Tapas festival as well as fun, interactive activity for families.
- Sunday 31st – Family Fun Day. Mersey Square will be filled with live music and fun, interactive activities for the whole family. Try your hand at crafts, cupcake decorating or get sporty with our speed and agility course and climbing wall.
