Three Stockport businesses have been shortlisted in the International Business of the Year category for the 5th Stockport Business Awards.
The awards, organised by local accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, identify the borough’s best businesses.
International Business of the Year, sponsored by MAN Diesel and Turbo UK Limited, recognises successful businesses which are trading internationally from a base in Stockport.
Shortlisted companies for the 2016 awards are APEM, ParkCloud and Premier Textiles.
APEM is Europe’s leading independent environmental consultancy and is based on the Embankment Business Park in Heaton Mersey. They are a company which has focussed on aquatic science for almost 30 years, but have recently diversified into the marine environment – now making them a leading provider in both the freshwater and marine sectors. Theirs is a remarkable story of a company with a constant drive to deliver quality, whilst developing new income streams and increased profitability. Continued investment into staff and assets have seen APEM grow into a nationwide business with a strong overseas presence.
ParkCloud is a leading online booking agency in the parking industry. ParkCloud is a global businesses operating in a staggering 81% of the world’s countries. Today over 400,000 parking spaces from more than 1,200 parking facilities around the world are promoted through ParkCloud’s systems. Alongside this steady worldwide expansion, consistent increases in turnover and profit demonstrate ParkCloud’s success. Starting from a 3-person team in a shared office space in Heaton Chapel, today ParkCloud is 40+ strong team based in Stockport.

Founded in 1981 as an independent, family run business, they have earned a reputation for being friendly and helpful; bringing together an exceptionally committed team. The winner will be announced at the ceremony which takes place on 13th October at Stockport Town Hall.
