A group of Stockport students have launched a summer recruitment video campaign to showcase what a future path with Stockport College could look like.
Launched to attract new students to the college, following a successful merger with Trafford College earlier this year, the campaign will highlight the great facilities and reasons why people enjoy going there.
Created in a workshop environment, the #MoreMe social video campaign, produced and directed by the students, asks previous and past students to film a selfie to say what aspect of the college they found ‘more them’.
Jordan, participating student and one of the campaign founders, said he’d chosen Stockport College as it enabled him to live his day, his way. The flexibility of his college timetable enabled him to exercise between classes and enjoy relaxing in leisure spaces in Stockport, before, and after college.
Performing arts student Isabelle, said for her the college allowed her to express her own individuality and she loved the opportunity and experiences presented to her by the teachers and placements, including working on set for a new British action horror film being released this year.
Local Engagement Agency Big Brand Ideas, who worked with the students to bring the campaign to life, said
“We were so impressed and inspired by the students who took part. There was an overwhelming appreciation of the support provided to the students, as well as the connections that were present with employers in the area including BBC.”
The team of students have created a launch film for the campaign and are calling for past students who attended the college to take part in filming their own #MoreMe film. Anyone creating their own film should tag #MoreMe and Stockport College and share on Instagram or Facebook, in a bid to inspire others.
Jordan, campaign founder and illustration student said
“We would love to get some momentum behind the campaign and are asking existing and past students to get involved. We want to inspire people to come here and highlight the career opportunities available because of studying here.”
Elaine Andrews, Marketing Manager at Stockport College said
“We recognise people choose college over their school or sixth forms for many different reasons, we wanted to work with the students to create a campaign that showed the virtues, possibilities and opportunities that college life presents. We are really proud of the students’ campaign and wish them every success in getting as many people as possible involved”.
Students are encouraging anyone who is a past or present student of Stockport, to get involved and share their #MoreMe moment from the college. For inspiration they have stared in their own launch film.
