Stockport Shop Local champions and digital startup entrepreneurs Marcus & Sam Naidoo have been shortlisted in the 2018 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Award in the Service Industries Entrepreneur Category.
The married couple from Marple in Stockport, beat off some tough competition in order to make the regional shortlist with a record number of businesses entering the awards nationally across the wide range of categories.
Creator of the Awards, Francesca James, said:
“We have been inundated with some incredible entries this year, and all shortlisted applicants should be extremely proud of themselves! This year has yet again seen a record number of entrants and we’ve been absolutely blown away by the strength and diversity of applications.”
The duo, who champion the #ShopLocal movement on social media said:
“Wow, we are absolutely thrilled to be finalists, for us to be successfully shortlisted is such a great honour, and to be recognised alongside other such fantastic finalists is truly humbling.”
Shop Local Club Card (https://shoplocalclubcard.com) is a digital loyalty and rewards platform that gives businesses the ability to offer programs like stamp cards, points collection and vouchers to their customers using a single membership card or free mobile app.
The digital startup has also been shortlisted among ten innovative Stockport businesses that have been shortlisted for this year’s Pioneer 10 awards.
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration, said:
“A massive well done to all of the shortlisted businesses – being nominated in itself is a great achievement! We’re looking forward to working with the businesses and providing them with the support they need to develop and grow.”
To add to these accolades Shop Local Club Card has also been named as one of UK’s top Small Biz 100 by Small Business Saturday UK. The achievements and contribution to the local community of Shop local Club Card will be celebrated and spotlighted on one of the 100 days running up to Small Business Saturday which this year, is on 1st December 2018.
Another accolade they’re proud of was being shortlisted in two categories in the 2018 Big Chip Awards, the Digital Business category and Best Mobile Application category.
