With Stockport County confirmed to be playing in the EFL League One playoffs, the club is inviting everyone in the borough to show their support by turning the town blue.
After a 3-1 win against Wycombe Wanderers saw the Hatters achieve their highest league finish in 23 years, Stockport County will play Leyton Orient in two-legged semi-final. The two sides will meet first at Brisbane Road on Saturday 10th May and on Wednesday 14th May at Edgeley Park for a place in the playoff final and join Birmingham City and Wrexham in the EFL Championship. A chance at promotion to the Championship comes in the Hatters first season in League One following a 14-year absence.
As the team kicks of its thrilling playoff journey, the Club is asking fans, residents, schools and businesses to get behind the lads for their upcoming games. Proud Stopfordians can honour the Hatters by wearing the club colours and decorating their homes, shops, cars and classrooms in Stockport County blue, and posting photos and footage of their efforts on social media using the hashtag #PaintItBlue.
The club’s #PaintItBlue favourites will be showcased on the club website, social media channels and in the matchday programme, with the best of the bunch being featured on the big screen at Edgeley Park, in front of a capacity crowd. #PaintItBlue ideas might include:
- Decorating your shop window with County shirts, club crests or blue banners
- Festooning your company’s reception area with blue bunting
- Painting your garden fence or garage door blue
- Decorating your car, bicycle or scooter in County colours

- Illuminating your house and garden with blue lights
- Decorating your school playground or classroom blue

- …and wearing your blue Stockport County shirt with pride wherever you go!
