Since its launch 18 months ago, Stockport Local Fund has already invested a quarter of a million pounds in innovative new community ideas making a difference to your neighbourhoods.
The good news is that the fund will be open again for applications on Monday 4th November – don’t miss out on this opportunity to grow your great idea.
Councillor Amanda Peers, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Neighbourhoods, said:
“I had the pleasure last week of meeting some of the groups funded in the last round. They were keen to tell us that Stockport Local Fund is already proving an invaluable resource for communities and local people. I was excited to hear about some of the varied and innovative projects that will happen over the next 12 months and look forward to seeing them in action.
“We want to encourage as broad a response as possible to this next round of funding. If you’re considering applying, look at our Stockport Local online directory to find out what’s already happening in your area and where your great idea could fill a need. And take inspiration from some of the awards we’ve already made to support wonderful community ideas.”
The last round of funding invested in groups to improve the local environment, to tackle loneliness and isolation across all ages and to support physical and mental wellbeing across the generations.
Further details on projects funded to date can be found on the fund web pages.
Councillor Peers concludes:
“This is a significant time for our communities with Stockport Local, our programme of support, helping to connect individuals, groups and businesses across the borough. There are so many ways to get involved. Please do visit our web pages to find out more.”
