Stockport Local Fund, the community fund that is supporting great ideas that make a difference in your neighbourhood, is now in its second round of funding
Stockport Council have once again seen a wide range of applications from across communities in Stockport. Groups funded in the first round have reported the Stockport Local Fund is already proving a valuable resource for communities and the momentum is building with each round.
Councillor Elise Wilson, Cabinet Member for Reform and Governance at Stockport Council said:
“It’s great that we are continuing to get such a good response and a diverse range of applications. The benefits of the investment we made in our communities in the first round are starting to show. We’ve already funded groups to combat loneliness, to support victims of domestic abuse and to promote mental health amongst young people and we are excited by the range of applications from the second round.”
“If you want to find out more about local groups and activities in your community, take a look at Stockport Local, our online community directory. It’s the easiest way to find out what’s on and how to join in.”
In this second round of Stockport Local Fund around 100 applications were received and scored against the council’s priorities which this time included an emphasis on community safety. Successful ideas also needed to demonstrate that they would make a difference to both the people involved and the wider community and that the idea would be sustainable once support from Stockport Local Fund has ended.
If you recently applied to Stockport Local Fund you will soon find out the outcome of your application.
Successful applicants who applied for under £500 will receive their funding over the next few weeks. Those who applied for more than £500, whose ideas passed the first stage of the application process, now need to explain their projects in more detail.
If you weren’t ready to apply this time around there will be another opportunity later this spring. So you don’t miss out on future Stockport Local Fund application dates or information on priorities, which may change from one stage to the next, sign up for updates on the website
