Stockport and Manchester’s legal sector is coming together to host a ball to raise funds for children’s charity Millie’s Trust.
The Stockport Incorporated Law Society’s ‘All that glitters’ charity ball is being held at Bredbury Hall on Friday 22nd November in aid of Millie’s Trust. X-press Legal Services, also based in Stockport, are sponsoring the event, which includes a 3-course dinner and charity auction.
The evening will also see a newly qualified solicitor receiving the Johnston Baker Ellis Award for exceeding expectations during their training contract.
X-Press Legal Services Greater Manchester and Cheshire owner, Russell Brown (pictured) comments:
“We’re asking solicitors from across the region to come together for an evening to celebrate the success of our junior solicitors and support the local Law Society whilst raising funds for a very worthy cause.
“We’re expecting over 100 solicitors to attend the evening and raise as much as we can for Millie’s Trust through tickets sales and our charity auction to help them with their life-saving training.”
Millie’s Trust was created by the parents of Millie Thompson who tragically passed away in a choking incident in October 2012. The charity wants everyone to be able to learn the skills that not only may help to save a child’s life but also that of a friend, parent or partner.
“As parents of a child ourselves we believe that everyone should have access to First Aid Training no matter what their situation in life is. We aim to make First Aid training readily available for minimal costs and in as many places as possible.”
