The annual Stockport Jobs Fair returned to Stockport Town Hall with a whopping turnout last month.
Once again taking place in the Town Hall Ballroom, the jobs fair saw 500 prospective employees visit up to 40 high profile employers, along with support organisations.
The event on Tuesday 25th September 2018 – which was opened by the Mayor of Stockport – was hosted by Stockport Council in partnership with Jobcentre Plus.
Employers at the Stockport jobs fair included Lex Autolease, Manchester Airport Group, Music Magpie, Life Leisure and Thales.
Life Leisure recruited 10 individuals who attended the fair, whilst Thales stated they were able to meet individuals during the process who they would not be able to have identified through ordinary recruitment processes.
Councillor Kate Butler, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration said:
“Stockport Jobs Fair is an important way that the Council, Jobcentre Plus, and other local partners can offer help and support to jobseekers and employers. It was great to see a variety of companies attending and such a big turnout. The jobs fair is a brilliant way for people to speak directly to potential employers and gain advice about how they can secure their next job.”
