Stockport Homes are triple winners after collecting three trophies at the 2015 Housing Innovation awards held last night in Covent Garden’s Grand Connaught Rooms, for
- Most Innovative Medium Housing Provider
- Most Innovative In-House Repairs Contractor
- Most Innovative use of Renewable Technology
The Housing Innovation Awards, now in its fifth year, is all about celebrating that pioneering spirit and highlighting examples of inventive and original schemes and services.
The social homes landlord was also shortlisted in the Community Engagement category at the event which took place in Covent Garden’s Grand Connaught Rooms, London.
In the Innovative Medium Housing Provider category, judges were impressed with Stockport Homes’ offer of ‘more than just housing’, providing a range of services for residents and commercial activities boosting available resources for investment.
In the Innovative In-House Repairs Contractor category, Stockport Homes’ Repair 1st team was praised for its commitment to providing skills and training for young people, and giving chances to people distant from the labour market.
Judges also saw a winning entry in Stockport Homes’ biomass heating programme in the Most Innovative use of Renewable Technology category. The landlord has rolled out biomass heating systems to 2,000 homes.
