Stockport Homes Group has announced their continuing support for Reuben’s Retreat for a second year.
Through a range of activities, including bake sales, the Salford 10k run, a dragon boat race, trekking Scafell Pike, bag packs and a charity quiz, the Group has raised an amazing £20,000 so far!
Over the past year, a strong and positive relationship has been formed with Reuben’s Retreat, which has provided not only opportunities to raise funds for the charity, but also offered staff a variety of volunteering and team-building opportunities.
Nicola Graham, Reuben’s Mummy and Founder of Reuben’s Retreat said,
“To work with Stockport Homes Group over the last 12 months has been exceptional. Not only have its teams understood our entire vision, but they have also harnessed the skills and talent of every department and individual to help us achieve many things on our ever-increasing “to do list”. From the onset, and as an organisation, they have proved that impact can be so much bigger and add more value than fundraising alone.”
Set up in 2012 by Nicola following the tragic death of her 23 month old son, Reuben’s Retreat’s vision statement is:
“Offering emotional and practical support to families bereaved of a child or those that have a life limited/threatened child and may face an uncertain future. Enabling them to create memories cocooned in the sanctuary of Reuben’s Retreat underpinned by our army of love and compassionate hearts.”
Their goal is to renovate their Retreat, a Victorian hospital set in parkland in the beautiful Peak district. To date, Reuben’s Retreat have supported 643 individuals.
