Stockport Homes are aiming for a hat-trick at national housing awards having been named as a finalist for three national awards by the National Federation of ALMOs (NFA), whose 50 member organisations oversee more than 700,000 council owned properties across England.
The winners of the 2013 NFA Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Midland Hotel, Manchester on Tuesday 9 July.
Stockport Homes has been shortlisted for the following awards:
- ‘Most Effective Partnership’ – for its ‘Signpost to Success’ project which brought together over 70 organisations across Stockport to make bids for funding.
- ‘Best Green Initiative’ – for its work to reduce carbon emissions and address fuel poverty through the installation of over 2,000 solar panels, five biomass district heating systems and improved insulation and energy efficiency windows to over 1,600 properties.
- ‘Championing Financial Inclusion’ – for its entrepreneurial approach to financial inclusion, including projects funded by the collection of water charges on behalf of United Utilities, promoting changes in welfare reform to customers, the provision of money advice, employment support and digital inclusion projects.
Finalists were chosen from more than 100 entries. Now in their seventh year, the Awards celebrate the innovative and inspiring projects which are helping ALMOs to lead the way in the housing sector.
