A Stockport based group was been named Best Agency to Work For (Large) at the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards.
Bramhall-based Inspire Group was recognised as an employers who go above and beyond in supporting, developing and rewarding their staff, from training and career progression to workplace culture and employee wellbeing.
The company triumphed against fierce competition in the category, including many well-known travel shortlisted companies including Hays Travel, TUI Travel, Barrhead Travel and Travel Counsellors.
The award was collected on the night at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel on 9th July by Lisa Henning, Chief Executive Officer of Inspire Group, who said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised as the Best Agency to Work For, and this award belongs to every single member of our team. We know that when our people are happy and well supported in their work, they deliver the very best in customer service, and that connection is at the heart of who we are. To be recognised for the culture we’ve worked so hard to build together means the world to all of us.”
Inspires offers over 100 employee benefits, and supports its team with monthly one-to-ones, twice-yearly check-ins, and a strength-based appraisal approach that connects colleagues across the business for mutual development. Staff also have access to wellbeing support including 24/7 remote GP services, mental health counselling, physiotherapy, and financial and legal advice.
Lisa Henning continued:
“We also make work rewarding and fun, from bring-your-child-to-work days and team-building events to peer-nominated Values in Action Awards and a charity pot our people can direct. We also celebrate loyalty with vouchers of up to £1,000, mark big life events with personal gifts, and give everyone an annual appreciation voucher, while hybrid working, flexible hours feature strongly.”
Speaking about Inspire’s award win, Lucy Huxley, Editor-in-Chief, Travel Weekly added:
“Inspire were worthy winners in a strong field. What impressed the judges was the substance behind the culture. A rigorous onboarding programme, a real investment in employee wellbeing, and a genuinely supportive environment where staff are given every chance to progress. They are a fantastic example of what a great place to work looks like.”
The win caps a strong year for the Stockport travel group. Lisa Henning concluded:
“Over the past year, the team’s hard work has translated into tangible results with a 12% overall sales growth, a 20% increase in homeworker recruitment, and a team that continues to grow not just in number, but in capability, confidence, and commitment. From £29 million to £47 million in revenue over four years, our growth has been exponential. But the metric we are most proud of is simpler: our people want to be here, and they want to stay.”
