The Gander programme has announced Stephen Dootson as their new co-ordinator, taking up the reins from Andrew Deighton, who is standing aside.
Stephen is well known across the Stockport business community, through his career at Hughes Safety showers, his connection with NK Theatre Arts and his work as a business mentor.
Andrew has been the Gander co-ordinator, since the launch of the programme in 2015 and is handing over the role, as he is moving away from the area.
Gander has had another successful year bringing local business expertise together with local sixth form students, to offer an insight into the world of work.
This year over 1000 students have participated in Gander activities, with over 50 different local companies having now provided support, across a whole range of industry sectors.
Gander is a unique programme that brings business and education together by building mutually beneficial relationships for the future. Learners sample the experience of a whole range of employers, while we’re busy working to match supportive companies with colleges and students that meet their specific business needs.
Gander, also recently announced a partnership with local charity Seashell Trust and they are already together planning a new business challenge for students in their partner colleges, to follow the success of the inaugural event last year.
