The team from Stockport’s Children’s Service, Stockport Family, have been shortlisted in five categories in the 2018 National Social Work Awards.
The National Social Worker of the Year Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements of practitioners and teams in the UK.
The winners will be revealed at a prestigious awards ceremony in London which is the leading celebration of its kind in the sector and recognises the success of the profession’s most innovative and dedicated social workers.
The staff nominated in the 5 categories are:
* Employer of the Year – Stockport Family
* Team Leader of the Year – Vicky McLeod
* Social Worker of the Year – Theresa Forrester
* Newly Qualified Social Worker of the Year – Simone Oliver
* Student of the Year – Victoria Stephenson
Councillor Colin Foster, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Family Services, said:
