Stockport County have unveiled their new scoreboard to Edgeley Park visitors and received incredible feedback from fans.
The new Digital LED screen was installed and commissioned by club partner and main sponsor Pioneer Group. The Portwood based company specialise in Audio Visual, as well as IT and Infrastructure and have been instrumental in securing the screen before managing the project of installation.
The former scoreboard frame was substantial enough to accept the new scoreboard, although a significant amount of new galvanised steel work was required to suit the new modular sections.
Pioneer Group employed Marple based structural engineers Marston & Grundy to undertake the design and fabrication. Following the installation of the new framework, Pioneer Group configured the modules and commissioned the electronics in just three weeks.
County has started the new season well with the team currently sitting in 8th place in the National League.
Simon Dawson, Commercial Manager at County commented
“This new addition to the ground is really going to enhance the stadium and will engage fans as well. The old scoreboard was literally that, as it just showed the team names and scores. The new screen is interactive and will show not only the scores, but team line ups, goal scorers, highlights of other games and of course, advertising.”
Chris Appleyard, Managing Director of Pioneer Group was pleased to have finally completed the project
“We are so pleased to have helped Stockport County in bringing this new and exciting feature to Edgeley Park. We are looking to bring new elements to the screen over the next few weeks, including graphics, animation and footage that will really keep the fans engaged throughout their afternoon. There is also some new great advertising options for sponsors to get involved with and take advantage of the great attendances that the club still maintain.”
