Two of Marketing Stockport’s members joined forces when Sports Science students at Stockport College were treated to a first aid demonstration by staff from Stockport County FC.
Team physiotherapist Ali Gibb, former County legend, and Bobby Lofthouse, current first team regular, were on hand to show students some of the skills required to treat sports injuries.
Ali and Bobby also discussed their careers and the qualifications they have studied to help them progress. Ali, who enjoyed a professional football career with a number of league clubs, studied a degree in finance but realised his true vocation was physiotherapy.
At present he is studying a Bsc in Physiotherapy at Salford University which he hopes to conclude in July. Bobby, from Glossop, joined Stockport County in 2013 and is keen to progress to play in the football league.

Every student who attended the session was given a free ticket to County’s next home game.
