Stockport County match commentary returns to Strawberry Radio

Live commentary of Stockport County games will return to Strawberry Radio from Saturday August 21st.

Strawberry will carry full match commentary of all games, home and away during the the 2021/22 season, making every game available for free for Hatters supporters in the UK and around the world. Stockport County Live will return to Strawberry Radio on Saturday August 21st when County open the new football season at Edgeley Park against Dagenham & Redbridge FC.

Paul Taylor from the Stockport-based digital radio station said:

We are delighted to be able to announce the deal with County and we’re proud to continue our involvement in 2021/22.  We know how much it means for County fans who struggle to get to all the games, so this is a vital lifeline for them, wherever they are in the world.”

County’s Communications Director, David Ancell, said:

We were very keen to make County commentaries free and accessible to as many people as possible, and we are pleased to have Strawberry as our official media partner, working with the club as we bid to get back into the Football League. We’re also proud that we can continue to offer a professional product which we believe is unrivalled anywhere in the National League.”

Presenter Matthew Gilbert will host the show, with County commentator Jon Keighren live from the ground. Jon said:

Strawberry Radio gives us a number of routes to make our commentaries available to County fans right across the world, as well as those fans who simply can’t make it to every game. I will also have a new team of summarisers alongside me for the coming season, with some familiar voices joining us throughout the campaign.”
