Following a nationwide, competitive pitch, Stockport based full-service communications agency, The fresh Group, was appointed to deliver retail furniture giant dfs’ annual company conference.
Taking place on the grounds of the famous, former First and Second World War airfield, the Imperial War Museum Duxford, dfs’ Above & Beyond conference was set to impress. Celebrating 44 years of being the best, dfs wanted to make this year’s conference striking, inspiring, motivational and above all else, world class!
To reflect the inspirational location, ‘Above & Beyond’ was delivered with military style and precision as a 1940’s themed conference. The action-packed agenda featured daytime activities including core drills and energisers, key speakers from Specsavers, the Yakolevs display team and the British Heart Foundation.
A few surprises along the way included a heart-pounding, aeronautical air display, which saw dfs’ CEO and Operations Director dramatically flown in following a display of twists, turns, and loop the loops!
A celebratory evening closed the event in style with a champagne reception under Concorde, a gala dinner, glittering awards ceremony and entertainment from comedian John Bishop and swing band, Jiving Miss Daisy.
Leading on from the main conference, a ten-day UK-wide roadshow in Cineworld locations was devised to deliver the key messages of the conference to all dfs staff, gearing everyone up for a successful winter sale.
With a fully joined-up approach, fresh planned and delivered a conference and rollout that met dfs’ world-class aspirations. Every division worked together to go above and beyond, from creative to technical production, video, exhibition construction, content management, print and much more.
Andrew Stephenson, HR Director at dfs comments,
“The entire event was remarkable and certainly fit for a ‘world-class business’. fresh produced and delivered the whole event with exemplary professionalism, flexibility and style. They adhered to the brief and definitely went Above & Beyond our expectations.”
This comes off the back of another record year for fresh, with a number of new large-scale events being delivered.
Managing Director at fresh, Patrick Howells concludes,
“2013 has been another really successful year, building on a record breaking 2012 and the investments we made into our newest division, Exhibitions. These recent new business wins and subsequent appointments are another sign of the continuing success of the hard working team here at fresh. The dfs and fresh teams worked seamlessly together, creating a memorable, world-class company conference. I am extremely proud of the end result.”
