Stockport College has expanded the range of free distance learning courses offered creating opportunities for employers to upskill staff and give individuals the chance to retrain online.
The college launched a number of online courses in April 2020, and has since expanded the range of subjects on offer. All courses are fully-funded, and free for over-19s with at least 3 years residency in the UK. All courses are recognised Level 2 qualifications, taking from 3 to 12 weeks to complete.
Stockport College uses its own online distance learning platform to deliver courses with lessons, assignments, resources and materials all included. Tutors are also available to guide learners every step of the way in working towards a recognised qualification at their own pace.
The accredited qualifications can be studied fully at home, with topics including:
- Principles of Business Administration
- Business Improvement Techniques
- Principles of Customer Service
- Understanding Data Protection and Security
- Digital Skills for Work
- Equality and Diversity
- Excellence in Customer service for Hospitality
- Information, Advice or Guidance
- Lean Organisation Management Techniques
- Awareness of Mental Health Problems
- Retail Operations
- Principles of Team Leading
As well as training for those in office settings, Stockport College is also running a number of online learning courses for workers in the healthcare sector including in infection control, adult social care and working with individuals with learning difficulties or mental health needs.
To further help local people into work, Stockport College has also launched a range of Level 1 community courses to provide employability skills to prepare learners for the working environment.
