Stockport’s Christy Towels are celebrating a great weekend of winners as their towels prove a valued trophy both ‘down-under’ with the British Lions and among the crowds at Wimbledon.
Andy Murray lifted the coverted Wimbledon Men’s Single trophy for the first time in 77 years after a gruelling three hours 10 minutes in searing temperatures to finally follow in the footsteps of Stockport’s own Fred Perry’s 1936 win at the All England Club.
The British Lions were in superior form as The Lions ended a 16-year wait for a series win with a 41-16 win over Australia in Sydney on Saturday.
The Ashes – 2013
Next on the Christy Towels sporting agenda
is the Ashes Tour – where the England big
hitters and fast bowlers will start their
camapign to retain the Ashes at
Nottingham’s Trent Bridge this week.
England hold the Ashes after winning the last
series 3-1 in Australia in 2010-11, their third
victory in the past four series.
Amanda Edwards from Welspun, parent
company of Christy Towels, commented:
“Our license with the English Cricket Board is
a special 12 month deal for the Ashes 2013
