As wedding season approaches, a Stockport charity is appealing for donations of new and pre-loved wedding dresses for its specialist bridal boutique shop.
St Ann’s Hospice’s shop on High Street in Cheadle has seen sales increase significantly in recent months, and the team there are hoping local people will consider donating their dresses to help local patients.
Shop cluster manager Esme Evans, explained:
“Sales have risen over the last year, perhaps as a result of the Royal Wedding fever following Prince Harry and Meghan’s fairytale day. It’s exciting how many brides and their families we’ve been able to help find their perfect outfit for the day, and we’re keen to continue ensuring we have the very best range of dresses on offer as possible.
“We’re really fortunate to regularly receive a range of new and pre-loved designer dresses to the shop, as well as a mix of vintage and modern style dresses for customers to try. If you have a dress at home, please do consider donating it as the money we raise from sales helps St Ann’s to care for local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
“All donations are welcome, and people can simply drop them off at the shop on High Street in Cheadle, or can call us on 0161 428 5949 or email cheadle@sah.org.uk. We’d love to hear from you, as not only will you be making a real difference to the lives of local patients, but we know from experience that the dresses we sell really do go on to help make someone’s big day perfect too.”
The St Ann’s Hospice shop sells a range of wedding dresses, bridesmaid and prom dresses, wedding favours and accessories from its specialist original 1930s Art Deco bridal room in its Cheadle shop.
