Local charity, Signpost Stockport for Carers, is inviting employers in the borough to learn how they can make their workplaces more carer-friendly and support colleagues with an unpaid caring role.
The event will take place on Wednesday 8th June during Carers Week at Signpost’s headquarters in Heaton Moor for a lunchtime session to learn how best businesses can offer carer-friendly employment.
1 in 7 of all workers in the UK is juggling a paid job alongside a caring role and this figure has increased since the pandemic began and the event will highlight ways that unpaid carers can be better supported at work. The session is designed for line managers, business owners, HR or Diversity & Inclusion staff or anyone else responsible for employee wellbeing. There will also be opportunities to network with other local businesses interested in carer-friendly employment.
The event forms part of Signpost’s three-year Work With Us project. The charity, which provides support to unpaid carers in the borough, to collaborate with local businesses to on ways they can be more carer-friendly and share best practice with employers across Stockport.
