The Business Person of the Year award sets out to recognise an individual who has played a major part in the success of a business.

The shortlisted individuals are; Alison Bowcott McGrath, Nick Rose and Tracy Mort.
Alison Bowcott McGrath is the owner and Managing Director of Bo-Concepts, a promotional space management company which is a leading force in the regeneration of town centres across the UK. Her passion and drive to succeed has helped to create a successful and dynamic business which is growing year on year. Alison has led the business to increase revenues, developed a talented workforce and created an aspirational working environment where all employees strive to better themselves. Alison shares her experience and achievements through a busy programme of corporate social responsibility initiatives, including the mentoring of local businesses and the support of numerous local and international charities. Alison’s ambition means she constantly pushes the business forward and there are plans for yet more growth for Bo-Concepts in the years to come.
Nick Rose began working at Midshire Business Systems in 2006 and over the past few years has consistently been the company’s top performing sales generator and is now a member of the senior management team. His contribution in bringing in new sales has had a significant impact on generating new revenue for the business. In the last 12 months Nick has delivered more than 100 new contracts and retained all of his existing clients. His management and development of the sales team continues to yield benefits. Tracy Mort is the Managing Director of Grace Cole, a company which offers bath and body products, cosmetics and beauty gifts. She started the business up in 2007 in her kitchen at home and since then it has come a long way. A steady growth in both turnover and profit has been achieved via a targeted strategy combining both UK and export markets. Tracy’s passion and drive has continuously moved the business forward and she is proud to produce high quality products at affordable prices which please the end customer. Another passion of Tracy’s is in bringing the manufacture of Grace Coles products back to the UK and new ranges are being developed with UK manufacturing in mind, continuing Grace Coles trend of supporting the local and national economy.
