Stockport school-wear manufacturer, William Turner, have bagged a Royal Seal of Approval as suppliers of Prince George’s school bag, a backpack pictured with Prince William and the young Prince George on his first day of school.
The embroidery on the bespoke bag revealed the name ‘George Cambridge’, the name the future King will be known as at Thomas’s Battersea School.
William Turner has a long standing relationship with John Lewis who directly supplied the school with the bag. The company also manufacture the school’s craftwear and ties.
Sales Director, Andy Smith explained the company’s delight to be a part of a such a big part of the country’s history:
“The picture has gone global! It’s a really fantastic moment for us, we are extremely proud and excited to see the bag featured across the front pages of the newspapers and news bulletins.
“2019 will be our 50 year anniversary, so it’s a great way to mark the occasion. We have been manufacturing ties in our UK factories in the north west since 1969 and are big supporters of employing people locally. Many of our staff have been with us for over 10 years so it’s really great for us all to see how far the company has grown to now have manufactured a bag that’s landed in the hands of our future King!”
William Turner has also supplied ties, bags and other accessories for other celebrity children including, Harper Beckham and the Rooneys.
