Entries are now open for Stockport Business Awards 2016 and organisers are looking for Stockport’s best business people.
The event, organised by local accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, is now in its fifth year having initially been set up by the firm in 2012.
The Business Person of the Year category recognises a stand-out individual who has been instrumental in the success of a business; judges will look at the business person’s skills, impact on the overall organisation and what makes them different.
Last year there were two categories, one for a business person under 35 years old and one for over 35.
The 2015 winners were Muhammad Jamil from Parcel Plus, a true entrepreneur who has grown a successful business from nothing, and Julian Stafford, managing director of Midshire Business Systems, an outstanding leader and well-respected business figure.
Andrew Baggott, of Clarke Nicklin, said: “We sponsor this category as we feel it’s important to recognise individuals who really make the difference in an organisation.
Often in business it’s a team effort, but if there is a special person who’s at the heart of the business then they deserve to be recognised for the inspiration they provide to others.”
Entry forms can be downloaded online at the business awards website. Entries are open until Friday, May 27.
