Hallidays, in partnership with GC Angels, will their sixth Stockport Business Angels event, taking place online on Wednesday 9th December.
Pitchers at the event can secure investment ranging from £25,000 up to £2 million to enable their businesses to grow rapidly. Business Angels hope to find the right business to offer their expertise and financial support to in exchange for the high returns of investing at an early stage in a growing business.
Hallidays MD, Paul Whitney explains:
Challenging times spark creativity and new opportunities. Our online event is a fantastic way for entrepreneurs to pitch their investment opportunity ‘live’ to around 100 Business Angels who could potentially turn their business dreams into reality. This is our sixth year of hosting Stockport Business Angels in conjunction with GC Angels. We have a strong partnership for supporting both entrepreneurs and investors through the process of forging their deals.”
Hallidays partners, GC Angels quickly switched to an online format in March, when the Covid-19 restrictions prevented the pitchers and investors gathering in person. Steve Wall, explains the added benefits of hosting the events online:
“GC Angels have hosted 8 pitching events online now, 3 in partnership with Access to Finance, and we’ve been delighted the format has been so well received. With an increased average attendance of around 65 investors, business owners are pitching their opportunities to a greater number of investors and maximising their chance of securing the funding they need to grow their business. Investors watch the pitches from the comfort of their own homes with the ability to ask the pitchers questions. Any investors unable to attend can watch the recording of the event at time convenient for them. Our next event, the end of year pitch event in partnership with Stockport Business Angels is our final of the year and we’re looking forward to lively pitches, a great attendance and the creation of new business ventures.”
Nick Richardson, The Insights People, attended Stockport Business Angels event previously and said:
Stockport Business Angels, Access to Finance and The Business Growth Hub were extremely supportive in helping secure our first round of investment. We were impressed with Hallidays who helped scale our business and pursue a second round of investment to fund our global expansion.”
Philip Eagle, Hallidays Director emphasises the tax benefits for investors:
As well as being rewarding, there can also be significant tax benefits in being an investor if the investment qualifies for Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) or Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS). Investors should always carefully consider both the merits and risks of any investment opportunity and seek expert advice.”
Businesses wishing to take part in the event, either by becoming a Stockport Business Angel or looking to secure investment and support from an experience businessperson can find out more through the Hallidays website.
