Stockport brewers Robinsons, along with Inglenook Inns and Taverns Ltd, have invested £500,000 at the Astley Arms, situated in a prominent location in the heart of Dukinfield.
The popular pub has reopened following a major refurbishment programme which began in April this year.
Tony Massey, Business Development Manager for Robinsons Brewery said:
“Robinsons Brewery have been planning to invest in the Astley Arms (Top Astley) for a number of years.
“It’s a wonderful pub right in the heart of Dukinfield and, whilst it needed refreshing and rethinking for the needs and requirements of today’s customers, it was important that the refurbishment retained and reflected its original character and authentic charm.
“Due to the size of the pub and the investment now undertaken by both Robinsons and Inglenook Inns and Taverns, the Astley Arms is once again a landmark pub for the area. Whether a place to eat, drink, celebrate or watch sport and entertainment, it’s a real hub for the community of Dukinfield.”
The solid oak bar has been relocated and centralised to allow for better customer flow and an improved product view for customers. The Astley Arms now serves a range of cask ales, six different lagers, a selection of hand-selected gins, premium spirits and wines, so there’s a tipple for everyone!
Internal walls have been removed and replaced to create a larger dining and drinking space which now boasts two new log stoves, perfect for the coming winter months. Whether you fancy a traditional Sunday roast, a spicy oriental burger or traditional pie and chips, the Astley Arms caters to all tastes and needs – click here to see their delicious new menu.
The pub now displays 7 new TV’s showing BT and Sky Sports, along with a brand-new games room with a pool table, darts board and fruit machines – so whether you’re there to watch the football or have a mouth-watering meal, the Astley Arms – or the ‘Top Astley’ as the locals call it – accommodates all.
The floor has been blanketed with brand new solid oak herringbone flooring throughout, along with brown leather deep buttoned seating and heritage colours such as greens and greys throughout, adding to a modern community feel. New atmospheric LED mood lighting has also been installed, adding to a relaxed feel.
Externally, the pub has benefited from full new décor including refreshed new signage in line with Robinsons brand guidelines, and an attractive new planting scheme.
There has been a full refurbishment of the kitchen and toilets, forming a refreshed new feel in all spaces.
James Waddington, Managing Director of Inglenook Inns & Taverns commented:
“We have been overwhelmed with the support and business over the last few days – thank you Dukinfield!
“We re-opened over the Bank Holiday, with scorching sunshine and everyone so keen to see the ‘new look’ Astley Arms, and had over 3,000 customers which was fantastic.
“Thank you for your patience – it was a quick learning curve for some of our less experience staff and our kitchen was kept under pressure. But a nice problem to have and a very positive start to the Top Astley!”
The Astley Arms has something on every day, such as quiz nights on Mondays and Afternoon Tea on Thursdays.
