Monique Rogers-Fallon from Stockport College has won Junior of the Year at Hairdressing Journal’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2014. The award was presented to Monique at the Lancaster Hall hotel last night (Monday 8 September 2014) in front of Britain’s leading hairdressers.
Monique is an Advanced Apprentice hairdresser with the Colour Room in Stockport. She was nominated for Junior of the Year by her employer and faced competition from shortlisted candidates representing salons throughout the UK.
Monique, from Stockport, who is in the first year of the Apprenticeship has set herself challenging targets. As well as the training she has raised funds for a breast cancer charity and organised a photo shoot for bridal looks.
Sean Tetlow, Colour Room Salon owner, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted that Monique has won this prestigious award. It is recognition of her hard work and commitment. She wants to be the best and becoming the UK’s Junior of the Year is an indication of the rapid progress she is making’.
