Stockport Accountant Neil Jones, Director at Bennett Verby, has been shortlisted for ‘Finance Professional of the Year’ in the ‘Manchester Young Talent Awards, organised by the Manchester Junior Chamber and featuring talent across varied business sectors in Manchester including finance, legal, property, recruitment, marketing and media.
To reach the finals, Neil (left) had to demonstrate that he has made an outstanding contribution to the financial services industry and that he is amongst both the technically and the commercially best within the region.
Neil Jones began his career as an apprentice with Bennett Verby in 1999 and last week spoke passionately about the benefits of Apprenticeships to local employers at Stockport Council’s Apprenticeship Store. Two years ago, aged 30, he became a Director at Bennett Verby. He has continued to make his mark, in particular within the Corporate Finance team, as well as leading the development of the practice’s new Cloud Accounting service.
Neil said:
“I am delighted to reach the finals of the MYTAs. There is a huge amount of talent across the region and I am honoured to have been shortlisted.”
Now in its 6th year, Manchester Young Talent Awards have received a record number of nominations and once again the standards were extremely high. The awards aim to inspire and challenge young people in Manchester by recognising the success of outstanding professionals and entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 39.
The winners will be announced on the 19th November at the awards ceremony at the Imperial War Museum.
