Stockport’s Hat Works tourist attraction, dedicated to the hatting industry, will be promoted to a new Asian audience as it is set to star on a Chinese Travel Channel.
The Chinese production company spent an afternoon filming at Hat Works on Wednesday 26th November for their travel show and will introduce Chinese audiences to British traditions, crafts, history and fine dining.
The channel has a regular audience of 12million and is broadcast only in Chinese.
Councillor Patrick McAuley, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said:
“The fact that Stockport is going to be an internationally recognised tourist destination is fantastic. We’re delighted that one of the Council’s best loved tourist attractions.
“Hat Works has been chosen to feature on this Chinese Travel Channel with an audience of 12million viewers. The Hat Works is just the start, appearing on Chinese TV will show the world it’s well worth a visit to explore the historic town of Stockport in all its glory.”
