Stockport Company, Starkey Hearing Technologies, has announced a new partnership with the RAF Benevolent Fund as the nation unites to remember the servicemen and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Beginning on Monday 10th November and through their hearing professional network across the UK, Starkey will be offering current and former members of the RAF, as well as their families and friends, the opportunity to benefit from exclusive hearing packages. Starkey is extremely proud to support the people that have served and are currently serving our country.
This initiative will be fronted by a marketing campaign to raise awareness to RAF Benevolent Fund members of the importance of looking after their hearing and will feature the first member to benefit from the service, Wally Banford, 84.
Wally’s visit to Starkey Hearing Technologies where he was fitted with the latest hearing technology helped launch the new partnership between Starkey at the RAF Benevolent Fund.
“Getting old isn’t for sissies. I didn’t want hearing aids! I didn’t want them whistling or stuck behind my ears. Aesthetically, it’s just not pleasing. But hearing loss is isolating,” said Wally. “These small hearing aids are just what I was looking for. Now, I can hear better and continue to be sociable and stay active.”
Roger Lewin, Managing Director, Starkey Hearing Technologies is delighted to be developing the new partnership:
“Starkey Hearing Technologies are very excited to be a chosen partner of the RAF Benevolent Fund.
“We very proud to offer our ‘Just Hear’ package to support the people that have served and are currently serving our country.”
The initiative comes fresh on the heels of a recent Royal British Legion report showing that veterans under the age of 75 are more than three times as likely to suffer hearing loss than the general public.
Philippa Gullen, RAF Benevolent Fund Head of Corporate Fundraising, said:
“We hope that this partnership benefits veterans and their families who might be in need of hearing aids and we appreciate Starkey’s support of the RAF Benevolent Fund.”
