Stockport Council run Bramall Hall will be hosting a Plant Hunters’ Fair on Sunday 6th April.
The annual event, organised by Plant Hunters’ Fairs, will bring together plants from 16 of the country’s most highly respected nurseries.
There will be a wide range of plants available from specialist nurseries including:
- National Collection Holders Special Perennials
- Bob Brown’s famed nursery Cotswold Garden Flowers
- Potterton’s multi-Chelsea Gold medal winning Alpine nursery from Lincolnshire
- For gardeners who have caught the veg growing bug Woodruff Nursery will be there with a great range of vegetable and herb plants
- RHS gold medal winning nursery Packhorse Farm with a large range of trees and shrubs including a great range of Acers
- New to the event for 2014 are Shady Plants from Gloucestershire, Chris Cooke Plants also from Gloucestershire and The Tree Peony Nursery from North Yorkshire
Martin Blow of Plant Hunters’ Fairs, said:
“The fair continues to attract the cream of our specialist nurseries and there will be something for everyone from alpines to ornamental trees; from azaleas to asters. All are real growers, full of enthusiasm and knowledge for their plants. The nursery men and women are always happy to offer expert advice to help less experienced gardeners select the right plants for their gardens. For hardened plantaholics there are always those little treasures to discover that can’t be obtained elsewhere.”
The Plant Fair is a fund raising event for special projects to improve the Hall and has proved hugely popular, rapidly gaining a reputation as the best specialist plant fair in the area offering a dazzling array of plants all for just £1.00 entry to the fair.
Councillor Iain Roberts, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said:
“Bramall Hall is one of the Council’s top tourist attractions which offers something for everyone. I’m delighted that it is again playing host to Plant Hunters’ Fair and would encourage people to come along to the event.”
The fair is held on the Croquet Lawn beside the Hall and runs from 11.00am to 4.30pm
