Souter PR has launched a training school for business to meet an urgent need for greater in-house skills in running a content pipeline.
With content being so critical in driving online search Sue Souter, Managing Director of Souter PR, has brought together a group of experienced professionals to teach people how to do it better – from the inside out.
Following a successful ‘taster’ session for members of Marketing Stockport that took place last week, the Content Academy launches with a portfolio of six ‘essential’ courses covering strategy, project management, copy, pictures, video and social media.
The Content Academy team will deliver courses to businesses
Sue explained the vision:
“I have watched people trying to get to grips with the demands of a good content pipeline in-house and struggling to get the right infrastructure, people and ideas together.
“The Academy is a response to that. At its heart is the Big Six package. These are core skill areas to get people better at producing good content, to a plan.
“Obviously maximising Google search is a key part of it, but content is also a serious differential and a story well told can have massive benefits across a business on and offline.”
Content Academy brings together the editor of Stockport Express Paul Harrison, former MEN Picture Editor Cath Ascroft and video production expert and ex BBC journalist Garth Haley (pictured). They have each developed special half day Masterclasses to give people the skills they need.
Individual courses can be booked via Eventbrite. The editorial calendar is a bespoke in-house session usually on the business’s premises.
Go to www.souterpr.co.uk/contentacademy for more information on each module and to buy tickets, which start from £150 per person.
“We are encouraging businesses to look at this as a team and go for the multi module approach. That way we can work both with the strategy and project managers and the doers day-to-day” comments Sue.
Masterclasses will take place from October 24th through to December 5th at The Hallmark Hotel, Robinsons Brewery Conference centre and The Landing in Media City.
The Big Six package costs £1100 (discounted from £1375) plus VAT and in this first phase of courses there is space for 20 businesses to get involved as a team.
The Content Academy will announce a second phase of courses for the first quarter of 2014 in December.
Sue is encouraging anyone with an interest in this area to register with them either at info@contentacademy.co.uk or by joining our Content Academy LinkedIn group for access to regular tips, guidance and examples of great practice.
