Over the past six months, since the launch of Marketing Stockport, many businesses have benefited from membership and subsequent business opportunities. Across the Stockport business community there is a very clear underlying desire to do more business locally and support nearby professionals across the borough. One such great partnership has been recently formed between two Marketing Stockport members.
Stockport’s Sims Worldwide Ltd have begun providing haulage and supply services to Robinsons Brewery. Sims are working with the brewery to help distribute their recently launched Iron Maiden Trooper Beer – Iron Maiden’s Premium British ‘TROOPER’ beer is the fastest selling ale ever produced by Stockport brewer Robinsons, with 1 million pints sold in the first eight weeks! This equates to over 20,000 pints being drunk every day since its launch in Stockport on May 9th.
Need has been such that production has increased at the brewery to six days, and with huge UK and international demand for the beer, Robinsons knew it needed a haulier that could be trusted to transport their Trooper to retailers such as Morrisons without any hassle along the way.
Ken Daniels-Sims, Managing Director, wants to work closer with local and regional businesses:
“Being based in Stockport, it makes sense to work with customers nearby, that way you can build a lasting relationship and always be their first port of call. Working with long established local brands, such as Robinsons, is just great and is a thrill for all the team at Sims.
“We’ve built our business over years, providing logistical solutions to a broad customer base giving quality distribution services throughout the UK and Europe. Our roots are in Stockport though, and working with and supporting local traders is a big focus for Sims moving forward. The chance to play a role in the Trooper success is a fantastic opportunity for us and something everyone at Sims is proud to be part of.”
