Business technology provider, Sharp Business Systems, has announced a new partnership with QikServe, offering a mobile prepay solution to help bars and restaurants reopening after lockdown to serve customers contact-free.
The Preoday smartphone application integrates with Sharp’s Electronic Point-of-Sale (EPoS) systems, to provide a smooth and safe customer experience.
On the 23rd June, the government announced plans to alleviate lockdown restrictions on restaurants, bars and pubs starting from the 4th of July outlining a number of recommendations for these establishments to ensure they are safe for customers. These include the following:
- “Requiring use of table service where possible instead of ordering at the bar…”
- “Encouraging use of contactless ordering from tables where available, such as through an app”
Steve Hawkins, Director of Alliances at QikServe noted:
If businesses aren’t allowed to let queues gather at a bar – how else are they to take orders if not through table service? Ideally staff shouldn’t be coming within a metre of the customer. So, the joint technology proposition like the one QikServe and Sharp is offering, promoting contactless ordering and payment, is the clear answer.”
Through original and innovative technology, Sharp hopes to support businesses transitioning back to normality by upholding government guidelines and ensuring customers are met with the highest level of safety and protection.
The Sharp partnership with QikServe seeks to provide a forward-thinking, bespoke integration between EPoS systems and the self-service app in order to deliver an easy and enjoyable experience for the customer, and a trouble-free workload for staff – while maintaining wellbeing precautions for both parties.
Danny Hamilton, National Sales Manager at Sharp said:
We are excited to be working with QikServe, a recognised leading developer of mobile ordering solutions in the UK. The integration of Sharp’s touch screen EPoS solutions to the Preoday platform ensures that our dealers can offer their customers a state-of-the-art solution that not only complies with Government COVID-19 guidelines but will also help keep their staff and customers safe, as we begin to emerge from lockdown.”
