Disability charity the Seashell Trust has had a summertime boost from kind Manchester Grammar pupils. Every year a group of students help out at Seashell Trust during their end-of-year activity week.
The trust educates and cares for young people with some of the most complex disabilities and communication disorders.

The boys helped prepare for the Cheadle Hulme charity’s summer fair by distributing leaflets, and organising the tombola and lucky dip stalls.
They also got to experience a different way of life during their school day. Pupils played sport and games with the Seashell Trust students and gardened in the grounds.
MGS pupil Luke Frampton said:
“Its been a good experience and I will definitely come back next year to volunteer for the Seashell Trust.”
Denese Paver, volunteer co-ordinator at Seashell Trust, said:
“The boys learnt new skills they didn’t know they needed, from how to deal with difficult behaviour to the right way to push a wheelchair. We really value the support we get from the school and look forward to developing the partnership in the new academic year.”
