Families and aviation enthusiasts looking for a summer day out should look no further than Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park.
The Runway Visitor Park is located at the end of Manchester Airport’s two runways, giving visitors views of the hundreds of daily flights landing and taking off.
Home to five retired aircraft, the park gives visitors the chance to explore iconic aircraft such as the Concorde, sitting where royalty once sat and even getting a chance to play pilot as they learn more about these magnificent machines.
It’s not just about planes at the park, with a playground, picnic areas, aviation shop, and restaurant so there’s something to keep the whole family entertained.

Fiver Fridays
Everyone loves a cheap family day out and the Runway Visitor Park is offering a special treat every Friday in August. Car parking will be just £5 for all day, short tours of the aircraft will also just be £5 per person and the on site restaurant is joining in the fun with a £5 meal deal that includes a Sandwich or Salad Pot, Crisps and Cold drink. Fiver Fridays are only available to customers who pre-book online.
Sundays are Fun Days
There’s fun for all the family at Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park this summer with their ‘Sundays are Fun Days’ events making a comeback.
Every Sunday from 28th July to 1st September will be ‘Sundays are Fun Days’ at the park, with a variety of children’s rides. It’s just £5 to play all day*”
Flight Academy
Back by popular demand, the park’s Flight Academy for ages 3-13 will be running throughout August. The academy gives kids the chance to climb onboard a real aircraft and sit in the cockpit as they learn more about aviation and flying a plane. They’ll also get the chance to try their hand at being a pilot, cabin crew or air traffic controller in a role play session exploring the many careers at the airport.
Bank Holiday open day
On the 26th August, the park will be holding a fun filled Bank Holiday open day where the Concorde hangar and all the aircraft will be available to walk around.
