A dedicated social media group for winners of the #QueenOf and #KingOf campaigns has led to one member taking part in the Duke of York’s ‘Pitch@Palace’ event.
Since the Summer of 2012, Stockport creative Dylan Moore and his business Aqua Design Group has been running competitions on Twitter to promote women and men in business.
The #QueenOf and #KingOf days were inspired by the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II and have been run weekly ever since.
The group is even more popular and still growing. So much so that Aqua Design Group have broadened the scope for winners of the competition by setting up a winners only Facebook group and a winners website.
The directory of winners website has given the winners another opportunity to promote their business through an image gallery and monthly promotion slots: sliders on the front page of the website for two #QueenOf and two #KingOf winners.
And, through the Facebook group, Northern Ireland winner Geri Martin @chocolatemanor attended a ‘Pitch@Palace’ event organised by the Duke of York having a positive impact on her chocolate business.
The group of #QueenOf and #KingOf winners has always been cultivated to help support and promote other winners, an ethos that Dylan was keen to promote as his own business found this approach useful in the Theo Paphitis #SBS (Small Business Sunday) competition they won a year earlier in 2011.
As well as the winners website – theroyalconnection.co.uk, Aqua Design have produced social media posters and leaflets for winners to use to promote their businesses that includes a new logo for The Royal Connection, promoting business growth through mutual support.
Going forward Dylan is hoping to get a large winners event organised for Autumn 2017 and is looking for interested parties that might like to get involved in the #QueenOf and #KingOf winners network by sponsoring this and other events in the future.
Dylan said “Given that the competition was started for fun, it’s mind blowing knowing how far things have progressed in 4 years and the potential going forward. Not only for winners but also for my business too.”
