Stockport based family owned Robinsons Brewery have been announced as one of the main sponsors in this year’s Cheshire Jail Break. The event, now in its second year, takes place on Saturday 25th July. Starting at HM Prison Risley, teams of participants will attempt to travel the furthest distance in 10 hours before returning to the Black Swan pub in Warrington.
Participants will have to rely on their powers of persuasion to get them as far away as possible as they cannot spend a single penny of their own money throughout the duration challenge!

Last year, people blagged their way by calling in favours from drivers, train conductors, motorcyclists and, on one occasion, pilots – with one team even accomplishing an 800 mile round trip to Inverness and back! Collectively the 2014 edition helped raise over £6000 for charity.
This year’s event is in aid of The Shannon Bradshaw Trust; a Warrington based charity that helps children with life threatening conditions and offers support to their families.
Ben Robinson, Head of Sales for Robinsons Brewery said:
“We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Cheshire Jail Break event. The Black Swan is one of our key free trade customers so when we heard of a chance to get behind the pub whilst supporting such a fantastic cause we jumped at the chance.”
Along with the sponsorship, Robinsons will be keeping the beer flowing with a selection of their award-winning ales at the Black Swan, the final rendezvous point for Cheshire Jail Break’s intrepid travellers.
Ben said:
“After 10 hours of travelling, we imagine that one of the most welcoming and deserved sights in the world will be a freshly pulled pint of real cask ale. Good luck to everyone participating, we’ll be routing for you!”
