Stockport based Robinsons Brewery are continuing to invest in their pub estate as the Red Dragon pub in Kirby Lonsdale breathes new life into their guest bedrooms.
The refurbishment of the Red Dragon’s seven en-suite bedrooms was carried out by Robinsons Brewery’s design team who worked hand-in-hand with Licensees Sonja Cook and Keith Adams to ensure that the design remained sympathetic to the listed building.
Sonja and Keith took the reins of the Robinsons pub in July 2013 and have helped the pub gain a reputation for brilliant food and beer within the area.
Sonja said: “We’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished in just under 3 years at the pub. The refurbishment carried out by Robinsons in 2013 has really helped attract people to the pub and the hard work of our staff has helped us maintain a loyal customer base. Our letting bedrooms, whilst comfortable and homely, were certainly in need of an update to match the fantastic look of our pub.”
The new rooms are packed full of olde-worlde charm with a new look that embraces Victorian style furnishings with a contemporary design. The pub’s proud prominence in the area shines through with each bedroom named after villages and parishes within the area.
Keith said: “We are proud of the heritage of our pub so it was important that the design didn’t lose any of the character or charm of the building. Robinsons were fantastic at understanding this and the end results are something we are extremely proud of.”
Steve Robinson, Business Development Manager for Robinsons Brewery said: “The recently completed bedroom refurbishment is the final piece of the jigsaw for the Red Dragon. The seven en-suite bedrooms have been finished to a very high standard and these, along with the pub, now offer the best food, drink and accommodation in the area. A great result for two fantastic licensees.”
It’s not just customers who will benefit from the rooms either, the Red Dragon are also dog friendly meaning patrons and their four legged friends can spend the night at the pub after a long day exploring the picturesque Cumbrian countryside.
“We love dogs at the pub” explained Sonja. “So it was always a no-brainer that we would let dogs be able to stay the night with us.”
