Stockport’s Robinsons Brewery has been named Best Brewing Pub Company at the 2026 Publican Awards, one of the most competitive awards programmes in the UK pub industry.
The award for Best Brewing Pub Company recognises not only the quality of the beer being brewed, but the strength, character and performance of the pub estate as well.
The win is the first time in 28 years of attending that the sixth-generation family-run brewery has taken home the trophy, reflecting the passion, commitment and hard work of everybody in the business, and marks a major milestone in Robinsons’ ambition to become the UK’s number one family brewery.
The brewery was recognised for several key strengths that have driven its progress in recent years. These include:
- The continued growth and innovation of Robinsons’ own-brand beer portfolio, which is helping to strengthen its position across the estate – the brewery continues to have over 35% representation of its own beers across itsbars.
- A deep-rooted commitment to beer quality, supported by industry-leading standards and expertise across teams.
- The opening of a new £8.4 million state-of-the-art brewhouse, which has modernised brewing capability and strengthened long-term sustainability.
- Significant and ongoing investment across the pub estate, creating pubs with real character, quality and relevance for today’s guests.
- A clear strategic direction aligned to an ambition to become the UK’s number one family brewer, with strong evidence of delivery and momentum.
In a post on LinkedIn celebrating the award win on the night of 27th March, Robinsons Brewery commented:
“Every part of the business has played a role in getting us to this point, and we’re absolutely thrilled.
“Three years ago we gathered our colleagues together and we set out a clear company ambition. Taking home this award last night shows the progress and the impact of our great people, across the brewery and our pubs.
“We can’t wait to bring the celebrations back home and share this moment with teams tomorrow at our Friday social. It’s certainly a moment to celebrate!”
