The 13 best photographs taken in and around Stockport have been selected for the Vernon Building Society calendar 2020.
A total of 122 photographs were submitted for the 2020 charity calendar, which is now in its eighth year.
The calendars will be sold in Vernon’s six local branches from the 26th November with all proceeds going towards Stockport Sharks Swimming Club.
Stockport Sharks Swimming Club are a volunteer run swimming club which provide free of charge swimming sessions to those with physical and sensory disabilities as well as those recovering from injuries or illnesses. As well as receiving a £75 Amazon voucher, photography competition front page winner, Alison Lilley, selected the local charity.
The Marketing team at the Vernon Building Society said:
This year’s calendar is a little bit different! With our rebrand in October, we decided we would go for a desk calendar as opposed to our larger wall calendar, which will be really handy for people to pop on their kitchen counters or on their desks at work!
The size change means we are cutting down on paper usage as well, and with so much focus on environmental responsibility, it is important we make decisions that reduce our carbon footprint as a Society dedicated to the local community.”
The calendar is available at any of Vernon’s six branches in Stockport with a suggested donation of £2 or more.
Last year’s calendar raised £837 for Signpost for Carers, a Stockport based charity offering advice and support for those caring for a loved one. The Vernon Building Society recently won Most Responsible Business at the 2019 Stockport Business Awards due to the charitable causes they support in Stockport.
