Stockport Together representing Stockport’s five main health and social care organisations are hoping a recruitment open day will help to fill a number of vacancies in Health and Social Care.
The recruitment open day is to be held on Wednesday 13th September in Stockport Town Hall between 4 – 7pm.
The organisations, working collectively under the name Stockport Together, are combining their skills to change the way services are provided to meet the needs of the 300,000 people in Stockport. In order to do this, more health and social care professionals are required to join the growing team.
The interactive event will advertise a number of vacancies including community staff nurses, neighbourhood support workers, mental health support workers, senior support workers, social workers, occupational therapists and mental health practitioners.
Councillor Wendy Wild, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Stockport Together, explained:
“The recruitment open day will provide an opportunity to showcase the roles that are available and help people better understand what each profession entails. Potential candidates will be able to meet existing members of our health and social care team, and will also be able to register their interest in any existing and future vacancies.”
Representatives from local care homes, the Wellbeing Independence Network (WIN) and The Prevention Alliance (TPA) will also be at the event to offer insight into the latest job opportunities with them.
Margaret Malkin, director of integrated care from Stockport Neighbourhood Care, added:
“Our staff are passionate about what they do, and we would love to recruit like-minded people to fill roles across health and social care. We know we need to recruit staff across all professions to continue to offer top quality care, and some of the positions we’re trying to fill do not require previous experience or professional qualifications. So if you’ve always wanted a career in health or social care, now’s the perfect time to apply.”
The Stockport Together recruitment open day will take place in the Committee suite, Stockport Town Hall, Edward Street, Stockport SK1 3XE on 13th September 2017 between 4.00pm – 7.00pm.
