The Stockport Business Awards has received over 100 entries for this year’s awards – a record number and a 25% increase on the previous year.
The Awards, which are now in their third year, celebrate excellent within the Stockport business community. Winners will be chosen across 13 categories, ranging from most promising young business to special recognition, and presented with their awards at a celebratory dinner in October.
Andrew Baggott of organisers Clarke Nicklin said:
“We know that there are many great business success stories in Stockport and we’re so pleased that these businesses have entered the awards in record numbers. The calibre of entrants is again outstanding, which makes the judging process both interesting and extremely challenging! I think the fact that the awards continue to grow from strength to strength each year is a true reflection of the vibrancy of the
Stockport business community.”
Andrew added:
“Entering the awards is often rewarding in itself as it gives businesses the opportunity to step back and assess their achievements. Being shortlisted is true recognition of your business success and opens up many doors, and winning is the icing on the cake!
“We’d like to thank everybody who has entered and wish them all the best of luck.”
Raffle Prizes sought
Organisers are now looking for prizes for the charity raffle that is held on the night, with all money raised this year being donated to the Cheadle-based charity, The Together Trust. The aim is to match last year’s total of £5,000, which will be used to fund staff support to enable students to undertake work experience placements. They will help students find work experience placements in local businesses – helping them develop practical skills and grow in confidence.
Anyone who would like to donate a raffle prize can contact Chelsea Maher on Chelseam@clarkenicklin.co.uk or 0161 495 4700.
Everyone who donates a prize will receive a mention in the awards brochure handed out at the event.
The Stockport Business Awards is an event set up for businesses by businesses. It is organised by accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, and headline sponsors are high profile businesses from the region; Gorvins Solicitors, Orbit Developments and NatWest.
