RBS and Natwest’s one million mobile banking customers are the first of any UK based bank to be able to log into their mobile banking app using only their fingerprint!
Launched on 19th February, Touch ID is now available for nearly one million customers using iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus who have the RBS or Natwest mobile banking app. By using Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor, they will be able to access their finances, easily, securely and within seconds.
The technology recognises the customer’s unique fingerprint so they don’t have to remember their log-in and password. However, if customers prefer to log-in with their passcode, they can continue to do so.
RBS and Natwest introduced Touch ID following feedback from customers who took to the online community forum ‘ideas bank’ to ask for this latest technology in their mobile banking app.
