Two Stockport businesses have been recognised in the 2020 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, which this year was awarded to 220 UK companies.
Awards were given for a company’s contribution to international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility. 30 businesses in the North-West have been recognised with by awards, with the region’s tally ranking third behind London and the South-East.
Bramhall-based Contra Vision Ltd were recognised in the Innovation category, for their high definition perforated window film for one-way vision and other see-through graphic applications. The Stockport business has previously won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation category in 2015 and International Trade in 2014.
Cheadle based fluid mixer manufacturer, Euromixers, were awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade for the firm’s growth in overseas sales over the last three years, predominantly in European markets including France, Belgium and Denmark. Euromixers’ bespoke industrial fluid mixers are used for a wide range of applications, with clients including The Royal Mint, Pepsi and Honda. The company us also a previous winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, having won in the Innovation and International Trade prize in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Winning businesses will be:
- invited to a Royal reception
- presented with the award at their company by one of The Queen’s representatives, a Lord-Lieutenant
- able to fly The Queen’s Awards flag at your main office, and use the emblem on your marketing materials (for example, on your packaging, advertisements, stationery and website)
- given a Grant of Appointment (an official certificate) and a commemorative crystal trophy
The awards are valid for 5 years and winners have reported benefiting from worldwide recognition, increased commercial value, greater press coverage and a boost to staff morale.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise were first established in 1965, with the first companies awarded the prize in the following year.
