Pure Innovations has a brand new programme called Local Supported Employment, which helps people with a learning disability, mental health condition or autism into paid work and it it’s already proving a great success.
Local businesses are supporting the programme. Chris is working at Notcutts Garden Centre in a customer facing role as a General Assistant Apprentice. A typical day sees him assisting with planning and mounting displays, maintaining stock levels and looking after the plants.
Pure provided support at the beginning of his work there to help Chris transition into life in the workplace, he was guided through tasks and was then shadowed until he could complete them to a great standard independently.
Chris himself has been with us for some months now and during this time he’s grown into a real asset and addition to the team.
He has a sleeves rolled up attitude towards his work and likes to be kept busy. I feel he’s also matured as a person during this time and is continually learning through his training provider and his daily work in the Plantarea.
