Stockport Council and Muse Developments are seeking feedback and opinion as they present their proposals for the second phase of development at Stockport Exchange.
Phase 1 of the development – a 1,000 space multi-storey car park – is nearly complete and will open later this month.
Phase 2 comprises a new c.50,000 sq ft Grade A office building, 115 bed hotel and a ‘gateway’ pedestrianised public square opposite the train station entrance.

A public exhibition will be on display at Stockport Train Station on the following days:
• 3-7pm Wednesday 12 February
• 3-7pm Thursday 13 February
A comment form will be available for people to leave their feedback and team members will be on hand to answer any questions.
Councillor Iain Roberts, Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration at Stockport Council, said:
“The redevelopment of Stockport Exchange into a vibrant business district and commuter hub is moving forward at pace and we’re very keen to hear people’s views on the proposals.”
Wes Erlam, senior development manager at Muse Developments, added:
“It’s important to us that the local community have the opportunity to see these plans and give us their feedback before we proceed with our planning application. We want to meet the needs of existing businesses and residents and attract future investment to the area. If the plans are supported we would hope to start work later this year, subject to securing planning permission.”
The exhibition boards will be available to view and leave comments online at www.stockportexchange.com from 12 – 20 February 2014.
